Artemis day 06:45 - Apr 1 with 520 viewsPerublue

Unless there’s a delay (always highly possible) todays the day I’ve been waiting for for years with this particular project but decades in my life with excitement as a whole.

If all goes well it could very well be a moon landing in 2028.

What could be an incredible and historic day.

But the whole project is a bit now a joke in terms of costs. Ludicrous contracts and overspends.

The smart money's on the Chinese to get there first. In a way I hope the orange excrement is still alive to see that happen, but that's probably an unworthy thought. (Double meaning intentional)

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Yeah class. It's one of my biggest bugbears, not seeing a moon landing in my lifetime.

I think the 2028 is unlikely.

As much as Musk is an utter c0ck, space X is very good at what they do.
But there is still a hell of a long way to go for starship to be anywhere near ready for moon landing.

Unlike the late '60s, there isn't the Cold War to drive the fantastic tempo of the then Space Race. Neither are there near-unlimited chunks of national budgets being thrown at projects*.

Under two years would be remarkable progress in very little time, given Starship hasn't even successfully orbited yet, let alone achieved crew rating.

* The Chinese might be, but they always take a longer-term view on things, rather than throwing cash at instant success.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

all feels a bit retro. those in the control room back in houston should look like dick york from bewitched and should be chain smoking.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show
