RIP Judith Durham on 10:19 - Apr 13 by EdwardStone
One of my fave songs.... she truly had the voice of an angel
I just love the passive agressive unsolicited advice throughout
First came the song, then the film followed
I grew up with Georgie Girl, song and film, literally! Like you, loved it then and now, sums up a wonderful era I didn’t know I was in at the time.
Takes me straight back to the orange, pink, red, purple and blue vertically striped, colours merging into each other, Indian crinkly cotton shirt that I wore all the time back then until it literally fell to pieces.
TWTD, swinging down Oxford St. dodging the chanting Hari Krishna group in their saffron robes on my way to Cranks shop to buy bread in lunch hour from secretarial job in which I was sharing an office with another teen lass called Judith who wanted to be a film editor (did she ever make it I wonder?); we spent most of our supposed work time chatting and howling with laughter at whatever.
