If Ashton left, where would he land? 13:15 - Apr 17 with 2043 viewsMarshalls_Mullet

Noticed that the Huddersfield CEO left yesterday.

Ambitious club, back by an American billionaire. Would be a good fit for both.

Well, yes. I’m not saying he’d be successful but I wouldn’t be surprised if his aspirations are towards governance at a higher level than clubs. Although for the most likely option, I doubt he’s going anywhere.

i guess cosying up to wannabe dictators is a bit of a trial run for the fifa job, you could be on to something!

I think Wrexham and Birmingham (mentioned earlier) are too ‘together’ and possibly already on a trajectory that doesn’t need him. They wouldn’t be interested in a guy with contentious faults and bad history. They’re already set for next level ambitions.

He’s more suited to Leicester or Sheff Weds now. Teams that have their own issues that balance his. Maybe a Derby County.

Clubs that’s are similar size to us with good funding are his meat and veg.

I'm not sure why people think that Ashton will leave?

His performance will be measured by his bosses through club success over time, not a single issue, if we miss out on promotion then his position will be weaker but if we get promoted then his stock with club owners will be higher than ever - why get rid of him and go through the hassle of bringing in somone new?

CEO of a club with 3 promotions in 4 years, good squad and manager, stable financially.

His bosses will consider the mess caused by the Reform visit and how it was handled in the past already.

The thing is Benters I don’t like being lied to and gaslighted by Ashton and not do club staff and sponsors.

If it’s just the Farage stuff then Ashton won’t go, if there are other issues though then he mightbb
