Can’t believe I’m hearing that there was a question over his job at Sunderland if they don’t qualify for Europe.

He’s done an amazing job this season to make a newly promoted team so competitive and miles clear of relegation.

Only reason I wouldn't be if Sunderland have gone to the wall on wages, and so need the Euro place. But like you, I think this is ballacks. If anything he's got to at least be nominated for manager of the season doesn't he?

But that would be utterly idiotic and no on Le Bris. And it's really not how Sunderland operate. I think their spend was similar to ours but they tend to buy young from Europe with low wages relative to the division so I wouldn't be surprised at all if their wage bill is significantly lower then we had last season.
