Awful 'tackle' - straight red. And yet, on FB people are blaming his mini shin pads!
Both can be true. I thought he was literally a fraction of a second late. Not sure there was intent. Never a leg breaker- both going for ball with high feet. Nothing planted.

Intent is not considered in rugby reds so why would it be in football? Mitigation is but that does not apply in football. I don't think it would not be a red if he didn't intend to break his leg.

Its about whether its dangerous. But all those factors are part, realistically, of a ref's decision.
It looked a genuine effort which was fractionally late to me. Painful but not really dangerous. I don't think its a red.
