They never stick it beyond 8 weeks. It's pathetic.
Part of the solution here is to allow free kicks and pens in the area when ball isn't in play. Most of it stops if applied properly at that point. |  |

I think that despite the 8 second countdown not being applied rigidly it's still much better now than last season. At least when the ref puts his hand up and starts the 5 second countdown the keeper tends to get rid of it pretty quickly. | |

To be fair to the refs and sorting this out it's really easy
Just blow the whistle when everyone is ready , stop the ref warning both teams before the kick is taken and whoever is deemed to be committing the foul the other teams reaps the reward .
Stop warning the players prior to the corner and just judge the game when the ball is in play , they'll soon stop then |  |

Tho they have the power to card players who take their shirt off in celebration of a goal, when the ball is also not in play. So it wouldn't take much of a rule-tweak to do something about the scrimmaging. |  |

And when there's things like a scuffle in the tunnel (Morsy a couple of years ago...?) players can get banned etc. You could even make the argument for time wasting for Goal Kicks etc is "out of play", so corner scrummaging shouldn't be excluded...? | | | |

Problem with that is a player can gain massive advantage before the ball is in play and then the opponent gets penalized for fighting back to regain position. Just allow fks at corners before ball is in play. | |

The refs are just lazy and selfish with it.
It’s easier to do it before the set piece is taken, than deal with it after - despite how it ruins the spectacle completely. |  |

With the vast majority of corners coming to nothing, rather than keeping blowing the whistle to stop fighting before the ball is played, why don't they just let the corner be taken, see what comes of it and if there is a goal.. then review it. |  |

But it gets worse as soon as the ball is kicked , I’ve said it before and repeat ….Ref into bothe dressing rooms before kick off with clear instructions, if you hold your opponent around any part of his body restricting his movers…..then I will award a penalty !
