| Play-offs 09:38 - May 3 with 1668 views | pelles321 | Anyone see any other outcome than Southampton winning it? In a one off game, I think Millwall could give them a game if they get past Hull. Southampton would probably be best equipped to compete in the premier league next season, considering their cup run, so I’m guessing that’s the least desirable outcome for us. | | | | |

| Play-offs on 09:49 - May 3 with 1418 views | IPSWICH1078 | Middlesbrough seem to have recovered a bit so it will be a good semi final against Southampton. I think Millwall will beat Hull. I'm going for a Boro 2-1 Millwall final. | | | |
| Play-offs on 09:50 - May 3 with 1402 views | Mark | Southampton will be favourites, but anything can happen in the play-offs. I hope Hull go up as the weakest team, leaving Southampton in the league with Norwich. The race for the top 6 yesterday was exciting, but under the new top 8 play off rules there would have been no race with 9th placed Norwich not having enough points to make the top 8. Also, with a quarter of the league going into the play-offs qualifying for them will not mean as much after this season. [Post edited 3 May 9:53]

In fact the only play-off team with an aggregate win over them across the main season was Boro (who, apart from against Watford and SheffW, have been very off the boil since February).

5 of the last 6 championship play-off finals have been 3rd v 4th. So think they may be easier to predict linked to form or favourites.

I've never loved Millwall or their fans but I think they deserve it. Modest budget, played to their strengths, a little flair in Azeez, supportive fans, finished 3rd, and disproved the "they'll fall away" brigade just as we did in 2023/24. And besides, Southampton would probably be more of a danger to us in the Prem because of resources. I'd like to see them up. Or Hull, for the bantz. Glad Hollywood Wrexham are staying at their level, as much respect as I have for the likes of Moore and Broady. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not that much of a pick-up, scraping past SheffW by one goal, then thumping an already checked-out Watford (who have lost five on the trot, scoring just once and conceding 16).

That surprises me, didn’t expect that. But yeah, fair enough then

Alex Neil is quite underrated as a manager at Champ/L1 level, with two promotions under his belt already, plus one to the Scottish Prem, in addition to some other good finishes. Even if he does bear a striking resemblence to Gollum.

Yeah, it surprised me too. Wonder how much an advantage that home second leg is.

That would be the ideal scenario. Also hope Philippe Clement gets poached around Christmas time after Norwich start the season well following strong performances against Lincoln and Stockport County leading to another year of joyless, lower mid-table innocuousness.

Bit harsh on Gollum that.

I’m sure Cov fans will be routing hard for Boro as they seems to adopt them as their second team, weird bunch they’ve been this year!

I’m glad Hull made it, they deserved it for the way they’ve been able to compete without spending any money.

| Play-offs on 11:15 - May 3 with 969 views | WeWereZombies | From the perspective of fairest distribution of football around England from a geographical viewpoint then Hull are my preferred winners (Millwall would just replace Spurs or WHam as one of too many London teams, 'Boro would only add to the North East also rans of Newcastle and Sunderland, Southampton to the similar South Coast Brighton and Bournemouth axis.) But from a footballing perspective I guess I favour Southampton due to the recovery from a poor management appointment. | |

I'd like Millwall to go up, as that would two manager's sacked by the mob up the road managing in the Prem.
| Play-offs on 11:37 - May 3 with 897 views | BloomBlue | If Hackney is back, and fully fit, I can see Boro beating Southampton, he's far superior is any S'ton midfielder. I know a couple of S'ton fans and they definitely don't want Hull in the final, they have a gut feeling Hull have some voodoo power over them this season, given they did the double over S'ton in the league. | | | |

Saints looked pretty tired and Boro should have Hackney back. So it's going to be closer than one would have thought a couple of weeks back. The winner of that semi final wins the play offs imo.
