I hear he called out the scum at Isaacs too? Wonder if he'll still be a town player and we can see an Ipswich player at the World Cup?

If our main striker got injured i wouldn't want to rely on Hirst in the premiership. We need to learn a lesson from the last time we went up. |
Or his form was a spell of lost confidence which has now returned/is returning. He's a very intelligent player with the ability to bring others into opposition halves who will score. His loyalty and heart for Town are incalculable, doubtful we'd get get that from a replacement. He's a 'keep' for me.

You're letting sentiment cloud your judgement. He's not a premier striker. Would love it if he was but he isn't. We have to aim higher to have a chance of staying up.

Maybe I am, but I think he has the potential to improve still further, and that itโll be hard to find his clever football brain, his ability, and his strength of desire to do well for Town all in one replacement.

I respect your view so we'll have to agree to disagree. ITFC first team should be unrecognisable in 3 months time. If it's not we are in trouble.

Nonsense! We've built a spine so that we don't need to totally overhaul team. O'Shea, Greaves, Davis, Matusiwa, Clarke, Jaden will be starters or heavily involved next season. We need to add some more quality up top. Delap Will return. KM is building!

It's not nonsense is it. Our first 11 will look a lot different next season.

| George McHirst on 14:41 - May 3 by TripSwitch | Come off it mate. It's not my fault or anyone else's in the crowd that Hirst has been so poor this season. You're being ridiculous. He's been a big let down at a time when we all expected and needed him to step up. McKenna put his faith in Hirst as the main main and he hasn't delivered, you can't deny that. A good performance yesterday doesn't erase what we've seen for the other 45 games and there is a now a big question mark over whether he stays at the club for me. [Post edited 3 May 14:43]

1. I'm not your mate. 2. It is your fault if you're one of the morons shouting abuse at him. 3. We're promoted with Hirst hitting double figures. Helped play QPR off the park within 15 mins yesterday, I'd say he's delivered, despite his struggles this season. 4. A big question mark for you? Get over yourself. The people who actually matter have faith in him. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Agreed there's something to build around with the players you listed (although not convinced Clarke or Jaden are quite ready to be starters) but I'm afraid I wouldn't be adding George Hirst into that spine

Maybe, but I think we will try to avoid huge changes as they have made the last 2 seasons difficult. We have plenty who will still be there come August and Hirst will be there too, yes as a third striker as he has shown he can score in the prem.

| George McHirst on 11:04 - May 3 by GlasgowBlue | I think he would be the first to admit that his wasn't his best season in a Town shirt, but yesterday was his best game since Barnsley away imo. A proper old school George Hirst performance. |
It had been coming. Thought there were tentative signs of the old George returning and then he had that excellent perf away at Norwich.
