| Seems a certain sign off from Burns on 12:19 - May 4 with 1672 views | pointofblue | Thought his response to leaving the pitch on Saturday suggested that as well. What a player he's been for us. If I'm right, means only Chaplin will remain from Cook's spell, and he's likely to be off too. [Post edited 4 May 12:20]

I would've liked him to stay on, but as McKenna said he's earned the right to do what's right for him and his family. He's got the opportunity for one final pay day and can't begrudge him taking it. Been an incredible signing for us, but all good things come to an end. Almost feels appropriate to end it on a high really.

At 31 with tricky injury history, the prem may be a step too far and I would imagine any contract offer is likely to be short. Similarities with Didsy in some ways and I hope Wes goes on to have a great latter stage career too. If it is goodbye, all the best Wes for the next adventure.

Ah yes, joined on loan in August then signed in January.

| Seems a certain sign off from Burns on 12:32 - May 4 with 1380 views | RobTheMonk | I'd give him a two year contract with option for third. Offers so much for the team. Versatile, three promotions, never got a good shot in the premier league, loved by fans, good character to have. But if there's a three year deal out there on excellent terms, then I wish him all the best | | | | Login to get fewer ads

A chance to play in the Premier League again might be the incentive needed for him to stay, if a Chief Executive decides to make the offer. I don't think too many of us expected Wes to come back from injury so strong, he may yet have something in the afterburners to run a few defenders ragged in the coming season. And I guess he is a favourable dressing room influence, the mood on the top of that bus seemed to lift as soon as he was called to say a few words.

I would have thought a one year Prem contract would be worth a three year Champ contract? He's a big part of the 'happiness' energy of the club, I think (although that's clearly developed really well through the rest of the squad now) - I hope he stays for another year or two. But he deserves whatever he wants to do.

| Seems a certain sign off from Burns on 12:42 - May 4 with 1225 views | wkj | I think its pretty obvious he's off. He's not not old enough to retire but at 31 he's got pleanty of time to be a starter outside the prem. Can't begrudge him for wanting to make the most of his last few years | |

He's probably looking at a 3 year deal somewhere on £20k a week with a juicy signing on fee, I don't think anyone can begrudge him taking that tbh. Especially with the injuries he's had, and the fact he's probably not earned 'silly' money in his career until his most recent contract. He'll be a long time retired, I'd be doing the same in his shoes.
