Sentiment never wins... 12:36 - May 15 with 851 viewswkj

However, I just have a really hard time accepting Chappers won't be part of town any longer. I guess the kids would say "This one hits different".

I think he and Burns were my favourite characters in our rise up the ranks and possible the two departures (if Wes is going) that will make me genuinely a bit sad.

Anyone else or am I being a helmet?

Yeah, it’s a hard one but I think this time around we need to show a similar ruthless nature if we’re genuinely serious about staying up - Ala Sunderland and Leeds last summer.

Doesn’t take away from the fact he is without doubt - alongside Wes - modern day legend.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

You are being a helmet.

But then so am I because I entirely understand what you mean.

He, Burns, Morsy and Davis are for me very much the face of the club during that period and it’s sad to see them move on. It’s life and has to be, but it still feels a bit end of an era.

I'm with you, I'm probably being a massive helmet in fact.

The love he is getting from his fellow pros shows the man he is and the impact he had in the dressing room that we have probably missed this season.

He goes knowing he has genuinely changed this clubs current direction on and off the pitch. Go well Chappers. A true great and a true blue.

Let’s not forget just a month ago he was scoring an injury time winner at Boro to help us get promoted. Even when he’s not with us, he’ll always be with us.

Sam Morsy's Band of Brothers will all have a very special place in the hearts of all who witnessed those 3 seasons. Chappers is amongst the present day legends of a whole group who all mucked in and done their bit. Hopefully there will be a smattering amonst the present squad who will lead the next bunch to greater things in the World's toughest League!

Good Luck Chappers and hopefully we'll see plenty more of you and your family down at Portman Road

I seriously considered voting for him as player of season because of that. I doubt I was alone.

We had suffered for years without anything to cheer about, we had struggled to really connect with the players. Then along came the Chappers of this world, a player who played with his heart, always gave 100%. The fans and Chapper's grew together, we built a love affair for each other and the club.
He was involved in all the great times, often the individual to dig us out of a challenging time.

I still think he deserved more playing time in the PL, but I was delighted he did play for us in the PL because he as much as any player got us there.

I've had many heroes in a Town shirt and given how low we had fallen as a club, the fact he was a major factor in pulling us from the bottom back to the top, he will be part of my hero list.
