Fast forward to 3hrs 18mins. Marcus has now unfortunately lost the use of his arms
It's such a horrible disease. When I lived in Leeds in the late 90s, im neighbour immediately opposite was Leeds Rhinos star Danny Maguire. His best friend was Rob Borrow who I met a few times at street parties and was such a lovely person. Watching him being carried over the finish line of the London marathon was heartbreaking having seen him as a full blown rugby star

It is horrific. Patients left mentally intact while their body slowly wastes away. Losing the use of arms seems to be the first thing to go; my mate who passed away from it started off with shakes and loss of strength in his left arm. Downhill from there. In the early days post diagnosis we’d go for drinks and it wasn’t too long before I had to help him get his jacket on and off as he simply didn’t have the arm strength to do it himself. It’s cruel beyond belief. Hopefully Marcus and family are surrounded by love and can make the most of what time he has. 💙
im friends with Mrs S on facebook (bizarrely friends through her dad, who i'm involved with motorsport with) - so by extension do see what he's going though
shes making incredible memories with him and giving him love and support - which i guess is all you can do - shes also raising unbelievable amounts of money and awareness of MND charities. she is truely an inspiration - and what he achieved with the club was hero status.
a very sad story to one of the club's finest and all you can do is wish them both well. it is heartbreaking.
Marcus and his wife have been a great support to a local family of late, young Dad/Husband diagnosed with MND (you will have all likely seen it on the news or social media) They commented on his great work for the charity, and making others know about this awful condition.

I thought I share this lovely clip of Marcus Stewart in his younger days. (5:53 if link doesn't start where I wanted it too)
Also like to say I've been lucky enough to know Marcus over the last 25 years. He has always come across mentally strong but his strength since his diagnoses shouldn't surprise me, but it has.

Mrs Cs uncle had it and it was the first time I’d ever heard of MND. I’d never seen anything like it.
A very able man (ok he was a Leicester supporter like all her family😀) he was trapped in his body as it basically shut down. You are right. A dreadful disease.
