| The thing with McKenna going 09:47 - Jun 11 with 669 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Is the next manager, whoever that is are likely to be asked to, and be willing to play a more pragmatic style than the front foot football we've been used to. We're going to have to give this a couple of years of that style at least I think. | |

Where have I said that? I said the next manager will have to play a more pragmatic style than we are used to. Do you disagree then? You think we'll be looking for a manager that plays expansive football?

Its an interesting distinction that KM has been one of our best managers of all time, while also having presided over our worst ever top flight season. (I appreciate its a little more nuanced than that).

Good lad. No, I dont disagree that the next manager might be 'more pragmatic'. But I am not sure that we played expansive football last time we were in the Prem. Any comparisons I make (if any) will be against the benchmark of our last PL campaign.

We’ll be looking for a manager to do much better than 22 points.., you can achieve that a million different ways.., your SO reductive at times. It’s why you said McKenna was here forever. McKenna worked out playing his style, with this group, at this level, won’t work. Maybe accept that. We need new players, talent ID up three levels, and better coaching and management. McKenna is as outclassed last time.., remember Glasner and Palace and even Potters West Ham making us look completely lost, and McKenna was way off the standard. You really need to stop conflating league one and premier league, they’re almost different sports the gap is so big. We can do better than McKenna, much better, but we can also do SO much worse and with the names linked he’s better than them all. You’d appoint Schumacher wouldn’t you - achieved more than McKenna at Plymouth, Bolton promoted, he’s a promotion machine - world class, clearly.
