I agree about the efficiency point, private companies can certainly have their issues.

We are part way down the private/public route, I am suggesting that it could be explored further.

I am not sure it's that clear cut that private companies would prefer lower quality care either. The NHS pays out a staggering amount in compensation claims each year. The recent case in Nottingham maternal care being a good example.

Following the details of the Lucy Letby case, that too could have very significant ramifications for the NHS when the CCRC concludes it's review.

Maybe to avoid paying out staggering claims against the NHS each year we need a political model that turns away from the United States legal model and re-establishes a European mode of thorough feedback, inspection, audit, informed regulation and public engagement that includes everyone ?

Two points.

1) You claim all parties 'bend the figures to help their position' but choose to blindly believe everything that comes out of Reform. Why can't you consider that Reform might also just be saying whatever the most gullible in society are likely to believe?

2) Why does it matter if it's the 'board legends' who present the evidence to you? Perhaps one day you should try spending some time looking at the source, thinking about it critically, perhaps even doing a bit of further research to form your own conclusion.

I don’t mean just Labour I mean all Parties they are all the same.'

So what did you say?

no I didn't. They were not inaccurate, you just don't agree with them.

I don't know what those were (am late to the thread), but you certainly made gross/misleading exaggerations in your post on p3 (23rd June).

£2,500 for specs is highly likely for London. My own two pairs of lightweight, scratch resistant bifocals (one with reactive lenses) came to £1,500 a year ago in N. Yorkshire.

His wife appears with him at public functions, so it seems legitimate for her to have a clothing allowance too.

Of course he needed a central London flat during lockdown, all MPs/others doing essential jobs there would have.

I'm hardly his no.1 fan politically, but you seem determined to do him down for completely unjustifiable reasons.

Citing one generalised, unchecked allegation by a troll on X is not a satisfactory answer to my post.

Yeah but that guy just has alerts set up for tweets with “19” in and gets disappointed when they aren’t for him.

What's your take on the Mcseeeney project?

I’ve given up any hope of a sensible debate with you, Red Benters, since your radical fix to all the country’s woes turned out to be “have a conversation”. I was just doing a bit about “Paul Hardcastle” and “19”, for my own amusement as much anyone else’s. As you were.

I went a bit beyond have a conversation in my list!

I am genuinely curious that there are people who still support this Labour government!

Wasn’t misleading. You just don’t agree with me which is no problem.

He promised a cleaner, better politics.

The “mislead”/ omission from your post is that these gifts were at fist not declared, then it turned out they came from someone who was given access to No.10. Also, why did he need a central London pent house? He’s a central London MP! Most of us on here would be sacked for this type of thing. Also, he doesn’t need the money….

And don’t get me started on the lies on Reeves CV.

In summary, I think I was very generous in my post that you quoted
