| SBR lower question 22:55 - Jun 29 with 2256 views | rgp1 | Apologies if I have missed something. If safe standing is going in the lower tier with rails, then why remove all the seats? Are they putting in smaller seats or something to fit more in? | | | | |

They keep them as spares. Or they are just putting rails up then putting the seats back. [Post edited 30 Jun 6:59]

Is it? The original rail seating was like that but these days clubs just remove seats, put rails up then put the seats back.

It’s not, they just add bars and put the old seats back in.

They were just taken out so the bars/rails could be fitted and then put back in. It won’t be so bad in SBRL as it’s still quite ‘new’ but in the older grounds where they have added ‘safe standing’ sections it’s reduced the space between rows making it really tight.

Oh I see it’s not going to be like a open space where you can stand where you like ?

Blimey, the stewards are going to be in for a difficult first match of the season if too many SBRL ticket holders think it's a free-for-all.

There used to. be a pile in the compound where they have the bins at PR and there is another load at the training ground.

Noooooo, same amount of seats* just added bars in really. It’s ok in a modern stadium as I say but at Old Trafford and Anfield it was a bit tight, even skinny people could get passed one another in the rows (Well there’s a few extra seats where the disabled area were I guess)

More seats, they are planning to squeeze extra seats in. Plus the now seated disabled areas and the seats they couldn't use. A builder working there told me they are hopeful of raising the capacity by 500 this summer. I guess there must be some wins in other areas.

When the old North was demolished I pinched a few from under the fence.

Disabled seats will go across the pitch at row 2 height- row 1 in corners moved to middle-lost theoretically
