Great to see that the authorities are taking this seriously, but fecking scary that a large group felt empowered enough to even take it this far.

The authorities need to start clamping down on the causes of this heinous behaviour, rather than simply treating the symptoms.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

These people are always arseholes, aren’t they? Migrant boats of something like it last year wasn’t it? There seems to be a massive racism problem in parts of N Ireland.

Different effigy, exact same location. The Police must know exactly who these people are.

A (catholic) church and an effigy of the Pope one year with no arrests.
Parts of NI are a tinder box this time of year.

There was a BBC4 programme a few weeks ago on satellite photography and the glorious pictures of planet earth from space.

Amongst other things, it highlighted how bonfires in NI at particular times of year revealed the border between S (no bonfires) & N, without any border needing to be drawn on the map.

This is partially the result of decades of the UK government pandering and excusing the behavior of the loyalist community in Northern Ireland.

That and the same group of people desperately trying to invent a culture for themselves in order to justify their existence. A few murals of the queen and a wave of a union jack gets you a helluva lot of leeway in the North..
