Fun facts. Tunisia and Iraq conceded the most in the group stages (12 each). Surpassing even Curaçao (9) and Uzbekistan (11). I’m surprised by Tunisia; I thought for some reason they weren’t terrible.
The team to finish bottom of any group with the fewest goals conceded was Panama (4), who matched USA’s total conceded, yet the US won their group. Türkiye And Saudi Arabia were also pretty tight at the back (both conceding 5) despite also losing their groups.
I don’t know what this tells us, other than it may not be the teams you would have expected to ship the most goals (e.g. Panama and Curaçao) who actually did. |  |
