| People playing their phones out loud in public 18:42 - Jul 12 with 3322 views | Mark | Is it me, or is this getting worse and worse? Rather than wear headphones or earphones, some people just play videos, music or games out loud on their mobile phones and everyone around them has to put up with it. I would say I hear this about one in three times now on a train or a bus, and sometimes on planes, in cafes and bars too. I even heard two people broadcasting from their devices walking around a supermarket this week. The Lib Dems proposed making 'sodcasting' illegal, and I would support that. At least some posters could be put up asking people to use headphones. | | | | |

| People playing their phones out loud in public on 18:25 - Aug 18 by IndependentlyBlue | Was with my partner in the oncology ward while she was receiving chemotherapy and one of the other patient’s partners put his phone on and was watching a film at full volume. When I complained to him he got all bolshy with me and the staff had to calm him down, and made him switch it off. Sat making snotty remarks to me and my partner for the next hour or so. And if I’d tasered him it would be me that got in trouble. |
That's awful, in a hospital of all places! My best wishes to your partner.

After been in Basildon Hospital for some 7 days I can confirm most people in there were watching or listening to their devices. Nobody watched those ridiculously overpriced bed tvs either bloody things never work properly anyway. One morning on the rounds the Doctors came round and was talking to a chap opposite me,and he still had his IPad ear pieces in,he was so tired he could understand why he couldn’t hear the Doctor, over Private Ryan, thankfully the Doctor saw the funny side to it. Some of us cannot hear what the caller is saying unless we have our phone on speakerphone. #HiddenDisabilites

Since the iPhone 12 they have stopped supplying wired earphones, instead expecting people to buy wireless ones separately. They claim it was to reduce packaging, it wouldn't be anything to do with the fact that the earbuds make them extra money would it, course not. So people just thought, sod that, I'm not paying an extra 100 quid, I'll just blare it out loud instead
| People playing their phones out loud in public on 11:09 - Aug 19 with 230 views | RIPbobby | Dom Jolly on Trigger Happy TV was way ahead of his time with his exaggeration of the phone conversation. Luckily at the moment I dont witness this so much, but I feel your pain. Now one thing from Trigger Happy TV I would love to see more often is a gang of Squirrels having a big fight. That would amuse me greatly. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We should be considerate in those cases. People with misophonia may be more affected than most by noises from mobile phones, and may become anxious or stressed. https://www.specsavers.co.uk/e [Post edited 19 Aug 19:35]

That is a good point. It is still possible to buy cheap earphones or headphones for iPhones though, isn't it, for the power socket or Bluetooth?

Sorry, 'what' should be 'we'. Of course if someone explained they needed to make a quick call on speakerphone due to a disability I would not mind This is more likely though... https://youtube.com/shorts/II7
