| Bad news if Philogene leaves on 12:44 - Jul 17 with 853 views | mellowblue | Almost seems that he does not have the confidence and self-belief that he can hack it in the prem and wants easier pastures. I doubt the clubs rumoured to be interested could pony up the money we would want. And we would not want him to go on a loan basis. It would not concern me if he left, not sure if he would cut it in the prem, so he could be right to move. | | | |

| Bad news if Philogene leaves on 09:17 - Jul 17 by Blooos | I would definitely rather keep him than sell him, however if you can get £30-35m I'm sure there is better out there for that price. Physically not sure if Jaden can cut it in the prem. I feel if we keep JC and Jaden the left side is pretty settled. Both good on the counter/ transitions and can make a goal out of nothing. |
£35m being touted as our target price but I think £29-30m with incentives and a decent sell on clause (especially given he doesn’t seem to settle anywhere) would be seen as a good deal. PSR wise a great bit of business with amortisation thrown in. Not particularly surprised it’s gone this way with Philogene. He was noticeably absent from all of the celebrations with the rest of the squad post QPR on Town in the premier league and that was the first red flag for me heading into this summer. No ill feeling on it either, and suspect the club has planned for this judging by their apparent reaction with not standing in his way etc.

| Bad news if Philogene leaves on 11:05 - Jul 17 by TRUE_BLUE123 | Clarke and Mehmeti on one side and maybe Akpom in attacking midfield. Would be an interesting watch. |
Mehmeti, Clarke and Akpom should be nowhere near our starting eleven if we want to compete in the Premier League. All good Championship footballers, Premier League is an absolute different animal. Let’s be honest, beyond O’Shea, Matusiwa and Davis, nobody from last years side should be in our starting eleven come Sunderland if we are going to be serious about competing this year.

Im ok with Clarke being rotated in and out, be that with Philogene or a new winger. Not expecting him to light up the premier league but I fancy him to be a bit better this time round.

| Bad news if Philogene leaves on 19:55 - Jul 18 with 458 views | No_Moore_Kieffer | Philogene played for us yesterday and engaged well, no throwing toys out of the pram or downing tools. Doesn't seem like he'll kick up a fuss if he doesn't get a move, but wants to go abroad as he feels he could get into the England squad, but won't do that whilst with us | | | |
| Bad news if Philogene leaves on 20:04 - Jul 18 with 440 views | Poultman | I suppose with Philogene whatever we may think of him, and I’ve loved his contributions, in the premier league, with better defenders his game would be easily read, so cashing in may be the option | | | |

| Bad news if Philogene leaves on 08:37 - Jul 17 by TownieRob | He's definitely one of our better players, but it does seem to come at the expense of a bit of unrest. Does anyone else find the 'is he staying or is he leaving?' rumours every transfer window a bit tiresome? I can't imagine that's the best way to build a squad with everyone pulling in the same direction. Is it actually his fault? Does he even want to leave? We don't know. That said, I've got two thoughts. Firstly, there's usually no smoke without fire. Secondly, just look at the saga before he joined us. And if it is all coming from his agent rather than the player himself, then I think he's being advised badly and/or he's got the wrong agent. |
He just has one of those grass is greener mindsets. Everyone in football knows it. And avoid accordingly, you can’t build a team around him or any long term vision. So why didn’t we look elsewhere. Our recruitment process is so poor.., no strategy. Just oakhers that have done well against us in the EFL. We can be successful (at this level) until that massively improves. How many of our competitors are linked with him…, none (and I don’t think Everton will be either, Moyes isn’t an idiot). We don’t know how to ID and recruit talent for this level, and Ashton thinks he does, that’s a problem, a big one, a defining one. Did success in league one with the biggest budget, and McKennas magic really warrant making ASHTON the only football voice at the club. Bizarre decision making by the owners. At this level it takes a team of elite talent. World class talent. Blown away by Leeds’ and Sunderland’s recruitment - Leeds will have signed two additional (arguably) world class talents later this week. Sunderland chasing that level of player too. Meanwhile we can’t keep our best player, who likely isn’t good enough for this level anyway. Starting to have empathy for GON. It’s VERY obvious McKenna knew exactly where the issues are around ID. Ashton thinking he’s world class at things he’s not even average at (at the level) is toxic, it’s death by a thousand cuts. £250 million and possibly ONE player who might make this level…., Leeds and Sunderland signed 10 each for much less…, and our one is a maybe!! Ashton is drunk on ego and profile.
