Many MANY moons ago I worked on the bar at an American pool and snooker club. I have a fairly mathematical brain and tend to think in systems. The place had a £150 jackpot fruit machine (which was a lot more back then) and you could tell the patterns of when it tried to pay that out. |
They literally make different noises, and do different things when they’re close to the point of needing to pay the jackpot. Used to play them loads as a kid and the incredible thing is the lack of discipline applied when you know it isn’t going to pay! This has probably changed now but there would be a different noise when a particular hopper was full - it was fairly easy to predict but bizarrely didn’t really do it for the £, just loved playing them.
