Goal kicks seem to take for ever. Goalkeeper feigns to take it short, decides there is too much cover so waves his defenders up field before eventually punting the ball up field. Guaranteed to waste time. |  | | |

If the GK goes down and requires treatment, his manager will have to nominate an outfield player to leave the pitch for one minute. If he doesn't do so within ten seconds, the captain will have to leave the field of play.
Could be a welcome development to the laws of the game if IFAB approves the trial.

Actually the more i think about it i think teams will still do it. If the team is playing a 451 and they have been under the cosh for five minutes with crosses coming in from all angles and it is only a matter if time until they concede. Then the team would happily lose their CF for 60 seconds if the whole team rests with the keeper pretending to be injured. The attacking team are likely to lose their momentum.

Yes if the keeper is injured as a direct result of a foul, collision then they can get treatment without a player having to go off. I guess GKs could still try to con the ref from the merest contact so hopefully a ref and var can use discretion to tell the GK to get up or they lose a player for a minute. | | | |

What annoys me is that there are genuinely players who get injured and they will still have to wait on the sidelines until the ref allows them back. And so the innocent side ( the injured side),gets punished and the offending side( the injuring side) gets rewarded.
Fair enough... they're trying to deal with it, but they're making rules acknowledging cheating is going on. Why not try and go to the source.... the cheating. Every club does it. Maybe to the point where it cancels each other out.
So much talk from governing bodies, media, pundits, fans about everything.... but why not focus on cutting out cheating. Diving and wrestling and feigning injury and time wasting and whatever..... why isn't there a campaign to get rid of cheating? It's ruining the game. | | | |

Surely the more pressing issue is the complete scrum in the area at corners? It’s getting ridiculous now with the endless pushing, pulling, fake falling, real falling.
Unsure what the solution is, other than the linesmen coming to the posts perhaps to spot the mischief. Or a much lower threshold for yellow cards, particularly if play is delayed.
Or I suppose, after the fact VAR review. | | | |
