I deactivated rather than deleted Facebook. I'll still reactivate it now and again, make the mistake of reading the comments under a news story, and then deactivate again in despair.

I honestly feel quite sad when I read comments under any news story. I know that the sort of people who live for the dopamine hit of negative posting on facebook are not representative of the public as a whole, but bloody hell......

Personally I'm more worried about those neolithic farming types coming over here on their small boats bringing their foreign farming culture with um. Stop the boats, goats and oats?

I left twitter not long after Musk took over, when it was clear what the direction of travel was. I'd leave Facebook too, but it would mean losing touch with a lot of people who I'd prefer to stay connected to.
