1 minute is the minimum, as with players coming back on after treatment if either team is actively attacking, they aren't allowed on.
It'll work, but only if there is some flexibility in it. In the QPR game, where we all thought it was Wes' final appearance, to later turn out that it was, it took Wes 30 Seconds to come off.
All that would be needed is for the Ref to do some research on the players before kick off. Of course, these are referees in UK football so they absolutely won't do that.

I saw that too Boro v Wrexham last night. However I went to York v Crawley on Monday night and it definitely wasn’t enforced - so seems to be down to the individual ref and their team to remember. | | | |
