Didnt disgrace but its a great comparison for how much better prepared we are We may still lose opening games. But for the season its much better placed.

More than likely, really hope that Leif can push on a bit in the prem this year from a defensive viewpoint and also that people get on the end of his crosses. His underlying attacking stats were great but counts for nothing if ball doesn't go in the net. Also hope one of the holders can fill in for him when he bombs on. If we can get this right with him and Maeda down the left it could be key to our survival.

| Sunderland potential v last prem season lineup on 08:15 - Aug 13 with 962 views | DJR | To survive, I think we will need equal quality from the bench because I feel that is where we failed last time in the sense that we often did quite well with the starting line-up but came a cropper when other teams were able to change the game by bringing on class from the bench. I think Jack Clarke fits the bill but can understand why O'Neil seems to want more. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Far better. Mainly because we weren't in the best position to make the most of the opportunity the Premier League gave us in the transfer market. The fact most of those players are being moved on or are going to be back ups at best speaks volumes.
