A genuinely special period in our history Mid Feb in league 1 to promotion to the premier league, I’ve not seen us be that good for a sustained period of time. Yes it wasn’t in the premier league or Europe but it’s without doubt the most enjoyable period I’ve seen and I include the 5th placed premier league finish in that. I think it was the fact that we had been so sh1t for a long time and people didn’t have confidence that we could deliver as we had failed so many times when there was a chance to walk through the door.

Completely agree.
In some ways, I think that is always going to be the best period. It was still our secret then in a way. Press and others hadn't quite cottoned on to what was happening and how good KM was. We were just sensational to watch. Incredible attacking football.
The club is now on thev trajectory it is on but in terms of purity that was the best period.
No nonsense. Just thrilling attacking football.

Thanks, George, for everything. Every time a double promotion winner had left it has hurt. This is the right time for us and him, though. But I now am now supporting Leicester and Stoke? Can we be more selective with the buying clubs, please???
I wonder if agreeing to this before bringing someone else in means we needs the funds to action it? Or is someone else... Embolo? ... waiting in the wings? I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Absolutely. As you say, and I was lucky enough to have seen the Robson, Lyall and Burley teams, but these last 4 years have been my favourites, purely because of how low we’d sunk, the malaise, the resignation that this was our lot, the death by a 1000 cuts nature of it all, no dramatic decline , Leicester style, just a gradual erosion of our spirit. Hirst and co, under KMK of course, have given us all hope again. I was in Berlin at the weekend, even with new management and players, you could feel that spirit of optimism still. Good luck George, you are part of the Ipswich history. The players reunion do’s in a few years time will be special occasions!
