| With Hirst gone… 06:28 - Aug 21 with 1692 views | ThatMuhrenCross | Surely we must be very close on a striker? Cant believe Gary O’Neil would sanction that sale without having someone lined up, otherwise we’re literally going into a Premier League season with just Emersonn and Akpom as our strikers… 😬😬😬 | |

| With Hirst gone… on 08:28 - Aug 21 with 1146 views | dirtyboy | I absolutely refuse to believe we’d let an experienced striker with some actual Premier League experience go to another club and leave us with a relatively unknown quantity in Emersonn and an Akpom who’s not really pushed on for a few years. Enciso is not a leading front man imho, certainly not in this league, so something is lined up. | | | |

Akpom has looked really good pre season. Being played in the right position with good service has helped.

Yeah, have a feeling he could hit double figures this season and be a revelation. GON's secret weapon. Still hoping we get a real big ticket striker in, but if it doesn't happen, it might not be as catastrophic as some think, with Emersonn, Akpom, Enciso and Maeda... Actually forget that, we need a new striker!

Although I appreciate GON name checked Akpom, and he's had a reasonable pre-season, there's nothing seen so far to suggest he's going to be a successful Premier League striker. I hope he is, obviously. The point being, us hanging our hats on those two would be a huge risk and I don't think Enciso goes up top as the third option.
