We were down to 18k for a league game when McCarthy’s time was drawing to a close and let’s not start on the Duncan/early Lyall and the early-ish pre-promotion Burley years. Glad those that went got to see us win.

The attendances were worse than 18k. Apparently we only averaged 16,272 in McCarthy's final season, so must have been plenty of 15k league crowds.

I was at a home game that must have been less than 10000 under Mick.

I sort of guessed that, given I was one of the assembled - I just couldn’t remember and couldn’t be bothered to find out the grisly truth so had a rough stab at the numbers! Apols. Anyhow, it’s a remarkable change

I remember them reading out 13k and we all thought that was far to high. It was a very depressing time watching town on a cold Tuesday night or any other night for that matter.

I had a look and that was during Mick’s final season 2017/18. For the less attractive games the gate was down to 13k - officially.. Published attendees had been dribbling away since 2014/15. Not surprising really given what was happening. Transfermarket gives a good summary of how average attendances changed over the years, though doesn’t take into account stadium capacity which was and is a limiter for some seasons. https://www.transfermarkt.co.u
