Freddie Ladapo was still at Ipswich.

How things have changed.

Scoring goals against Cardiff to help us win promotion...

Loved Freddie.

But I know what you mean.

All getting quite surreal.

How many matches did he play for us 2 seasons ago?

Ali Al Hamadi is with the club right now and will play as much a part this season as Ladapo did that season. In fact, when we couldn't find a buyer before the end of August, we settled Ladapo's contract.

The measure of a club isn't which players are on their books as much as which players are in their first team squads.

We had a midfield of Morsy, Luongo and Taylor and supplemented it with Phillips and Cajuste.

Now we have one of Matusiwa, Nunez and Taylor and have supplemented it with Lukic, Luis and Palacios.

That is the biggest difference.

Don’t go knocking Ladapo! He scored some important goals for us and a big reason why we can now go out and sign World Cup winners, South American superstars and England internationals. Big respect to Freddie.

Freddie was cool.

Still scratching my head at £10m for Hirst but good on him too.

I agree. Not knocking Freddy he did a decent job for us, but the difference between this and our last premier league venture is stratospheric.

I liked Freddie. He was a better player than he looked and some gave him credit for. In over 60 appearances he scored at a rate of 1 in 3. As part of the League One promotion team, Freddie played an important part in our progression after all those years of dross.

He did well for us and I’m sure will always be welcome back at PR.
