That's a very interesting observation. It'd probably take one hell of a deep-dive into the transfer window, and would produce an incredibly complex web of transfers.
I dare say, though, that the amount of 'new' money going through the system this summer was much smaller than the £3.49bn stated, though. |  |

I don't think transfer fees are an issue, it is the astronomical wage demands of players and agents that I really dislike at a time the ordinarily fans are asked to pay more and watch more advertising. |  | | |

Sky get incredibly excited about fees and want the number to go higher and higher so they are going to dramatise it as much as possible. They already count all fees including potential add ons so the true number will be a bit lower.
I'm sure they were gutted it didn't break £3.5bn. |  | | |

We're part of it now, if we manage to stay up I can see us paying £40m-£60m for players from next season onwards. Scary. |  |

Reminds me of this old but gold story:
A rich tourist comes to town. He enters the only hotel, lays a 100 dollar bill on the reception counter, and goes to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one.
The hotel proprietor takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to pay his debt to the butcher. The Butcher takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to pay his debt to the pig raiser. The pig raiser takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to pay his debt to the supplier of his feed and fuel. The supplier of feed and fuel takes the 100 dollar bill and runs to pay his debt to the town’s prostitute that, in these hard times, gave her “services” on credit. The hooker runs to the hotel, and pays off her debt with the 100 dollar bill to the hotel proprietor to pay for the rooms that she rented when she brought her clients there.
The hotel proprietor then lays the 100 dollar bill back on the counter so that the rich tourist will not suspect anything. At that moment, the rich tourist comes down after inspecting the rooms, and takes his 100 dollar bill, after saying he did not like any of the rooms, and leaves town. |  |
