| Might watch West Ham tonight on 21:30 - Sep 11 by RetroBlue | 60k at WHU tonight. Can't help but feel a lot of them are gloryhunters though. Where were they when spammers were getting beaten every game last season.... walking out at half time, booing etc.... they sense they'll " piss the league" this season and have bought ST 's in their droves. All seems a bit fickle to me. But then im no west ham fan.... What do.others think of their apparent surge in fan base this season? |
Spot on. | | | |

| Might watch West Ham tonight on 21:49 - Sep 11 by Garv | Not really any different to when we went down to League One and started winning again. |
The difference is that no other club has the entitled, winery, arrogant, self inflated view of themselves as that lot. Have always tried to paint themselves as some ‘salt of the earth’ types who survived the Blitz. Despicable Club all round.

| Might watch West Ham tonight on 21:45 - Sep 11 by SitfcB | Doubt there’s even that much there going by the empty seats you could see during the first half. How can they be classed as glory hunters when their attendances have actually dropped? Sold nearly 55,000 ST’s I think. |
Was rhstb55k ST thuscseason or in theur PL seasons? Im only asking this because the commentators kept banging on about a 60k attendance for a CC game, which is impressive but if they were only getting ( I dont know), say, 45k in the PL seasons (that stadium always looked half empty to me on MOTD viewing), then they have " suddenly" acquired more fans haven't they. I also accept another post saying fans like watching winning games. Last nights 6-0 win being a prime example if wgat thrur fans are expecting of their team this season, I suspect. But its not always about winning games. I was so close to chucking away my ST in Mick McCarthy era because I was bored sh1tless.... we were established mid-table, but omg how boring was it watching us. So many Town fans stopped going.... Back to WHU. You have to give credit to some of their big name players for staying. I expect them to come straight back up....

Their average attendance last year was 62,347. This year it is currently 60,567, with last nights being below that at 59,712 Obviously those numbers are based on sold tickets so actual attendance in the stadium will vary (see also us in the doldrums years), but that applies to all
