Of all the fans experienced in recent years, I found last night's Arsenal fans the worst - their recent success seems to have gathered a whole new generation of Arsenalholes.
Don't even start me on people coming up the stairs after kick off and not being able to find seats - I basically hardly saw the first 10 mins as people constantly unable to understand how a combination of Block, Row and Seat number works - I am amazed they were able to dress themselves and find their way to the ground . . . |  | | |

Well, I sat with the Palace fans on Saturday & while I didn't mouth off about how bad Palace were, I think there is nothing wrong with away fans sitting with the home supporters as long as they have the sense not to wear colours & behave reasonably.
I did have 2 Scousers sitting right behind me, quietly gloating all game when Liverpool thumped us 6-0 but I didn't think they were doing much wrong. |  |

A couple seasons ago they kept singing about us going down which at the time, I thought was very odd.

The last two times we’ve played at Coventry my son and I have sat with home fans with no problems whatsoever.

Yeah, that's very different from just sitting in the home end trying to stay in conspicuous something many of us have done at times. That said I'm quite sure that had we got a late winner at Cambridge in Spring 2023 half of that main stand would have struggled not to celebrate.
I do wonder whether the crowd for a League Cup game allowed a bit more freedom for the behaviours you describe both in terms of Town fans caring less and greater ticket availability (and I did see a post of an adult in an Arsenal shirts in home areas).
It is something the club should address though as some of the behaviour was clearly over the top and likely to provoke a reaction in a more meaningful match. |  |

Exactly - a League Cup game leads to huge turnover in seats & more opportunity for away fans to snap up tickets. Probably a good opportunity for Essex Gooner to see his team live. | |

I was at the Emirates in 2011 for our semi-final in the Arsenal seats. Offered a ticket to go with an Arsenal supporting colleague. Two blokes going to the football, talking about the match but hoping for different outcomes. I, obviously, have no problem with that.
Wearing colours in opposition stands and mouthing off is anti-social. Often a different crowd at cup games where tickets are more widely available. You'd hope they'd go to families and there being a new generation of fan rather than to the plastics. |  | | |

I was sat with the Arsenal for the League Cup semi final at the Emirates. There was a manic Arsenal fan sitting right behind me who exploded with fury every time a Town player committed a trivial holding offence in m0dified "CARD HIM REF, CARD HIM!" he shrieked, clearly not understanding that Arsenal still had the ball & the last thing they wanted was the game being slowed down to a succession of meaningless free kicks. I was almost relieved when Arsenal got a couple of goals &the idiot calmed down slightly. Imagine having him behind you or next to you at every game! | |
