More lamenting the potential loss of a partnership which has seen a lot of money invested in that part of Manchester. He doesn't say he thinks the charges are wrong, in fact specifies that he cannot comment further. |
Burnham made his position very clear very quickly at a time when all fans except those in the blue half of Manchester are outraged at the sustained debasing of the national game. And now a significant tax issue also. Will the PM be defending this, too?

Blimey. I wonder if Infantino was advising them on tax matters too lol. If loads of clubs start legal action against them for damages and they end up getting done by HMRC, is it too far fetched to question whether the club could be stuffed and collapse/go into administration? Or is that highly unlikely? I read about the findings of the investigation but haven’t been following the fallout over the last few days.

| What a disappointment Burnham is on 08:27 - Oct 1 by BloomBlue | Unfortunately the masters of the oil universe funded much of Burnham's Manchester improvements, without that black gold money Burnham's success in Manchester wouldn't be anywhere near what it is. Burnham knows this, which is probably why he's looking at starting new oil & gas fields in the North Sea, so every Post Code can have the same success. His main issue from now will probably be every anti Burnham is currently analysing all those improvement projects the City owners were involved in to try and find a discrepancy and hit him with it. |
The one new oil field and one new gas field licensed in the North Sea are justified by preventing imports of overseas fossil fuel and I think Scottish Labour have also lobbied Burnham to go with this as the depressed jobs and housing market from Aberdeenshire down to the north of Fife needs the boost and to do otherwise would hand the whole area to the SNP on a plate.

That's pretty strong. What leads you to say that? Is this in general or just this issue?

Part of your second paragraph is inapplicable if it is found that the club's owners ARE the Abu Dhabi government. In any case it might still be that there is enough overlap between the personnel of ADUG and the rulers of Abu Dhabi to argue that it was nigh on impossible for ADUG to be unaware of the payments by the Abu Dhabi government I reckon.
