Not so bad these days, but I live in Needham Market and we used to get Apache's flying over all the time. Maybe they have cut the flying time due to the fuel situation.
During the war in Afghanistan they used to fly Apache's in to be serviced inside an Antinov which I was lead to belief the RAF rented/hired from Russia. Those thing were phenomenal. considering their size that didn't need much of the runway to take off. | | | |

They chartered the famous Ukrainian Antonov AN-225 quite a bit. Also used it when we withdrew from Afghanistan. It was destroyed by the Russians in the early stages of the Russo-Ukraine war. It was the only one in existence and they are trying to build another. The UK forces also used the AN-124 which is not as wide-bodied. Impressive planes. | | | |
