In dogs, it's the front dew claws that are functional, but not the back, which generally are just attached to the skin. It seems the Norfolk breed of footballer has evolved to have useful extra foot digits, but still retain the useless extra finger. Fascinating. 🤓 [Post edited 14 Oct 17:22]
