| How does a strong wind affect games at PR. 12:17 - Oct 23 with 1769 views | Oldsmoker | The wind is forecast to blow at 22 mph from the NW for most of the match. That's SBR to SAR - left to right from the main camera. [Post edited 23 Oct 12:18]

I thought it was the other way round, if you shoot into the wind the ball can balloon upwards due to the extra resistance. If you shoot with the wind the ball stays lower.

Yep was going to say that was the only game at PR I remember where it obviously affected things. We've had a few games since with the current stands where it blows east to West or vice versa and spent all game chasing balls with too much air and consequent swerve heading towards the touch lines
| Its the 44mph gusts that are the issue not the 22mph on 15:39 - Oct 23 with 1009 views | unstableblue |

I do think the stands provide significant protection

It was also windy later that year against Tottenham with it assisting Jason Cundy.

No. but the 50mph gusts might be a problem

The ball was actually blown out of the corner quadrant , Thommo replaced it, great ball in, Wark crashed the header against the bar! That would have won that game..

It was really windy when we played Revie’s Leeds team. They scored 3 in the first 20 minutes and then just toyed with us.
