| Dara’s habit of backing off and off and off and off and off.. 17:37 - Oct 31 with 3779 views | The_Romford_Blue | ..when the striker is bearing down on goal is really starting to grate on me. That equaliser today reminded me of Charlton at home last year. Absolutely diabolical defending. | |

| Dara’s habit of backing off and off and off and off and off.. on 12:22 - Nov 1 by DJR | Dara will know he c*cked up with the first goal. He also nearly gave away another with a weak header back to Walton. But we have to give him some leeway given how solidly he generally is. In some ways, it was a repeat of the Wrexham game and he came back from that brilliantly, so I have no doubt he will do the same from this setback. I might add that I thought Diop had a very good game defensively. [Post edited 1 Nov 12:30]

Diop did, but whether it was the right idea to engage McBurnie for the ball 5 yards or so inside their half and get no where near him. It led to the goal. But then it is O'shea's job to then cover the hole Diop created ....

Three masssive errors in two games is a concern. If we are going to survive this season we can't be giving stupid avoidable goals away as frequently as we have been. Not when the opposition are more than capable of scoring goals without our help. |
He also had that costly moment against Fulham, when he tried to run out with the ball but was muscled off it by their recovering CB, which led to a dangerous opportunity and they scored from the resulting corner. I really like Dara but share the worry. Yesterday was so inexplicable and yet his third example of that decision-making in just over a year. He's dealt a bad hand by the left half of defence but you try to make the best of it, not the absolute worst. I'm not sure what I'd do if GON, whether to keep the faith or give Greaves a chance. More awkward that he's captain and Greaves is prone to over-optimism with committing himself to challenges, plus I worry about strength and positioning at elite level. Toughie.

I sort of have the feeling that Greaves, DOS and Walton are all exceptional EFL players but just not quite up to delivering consistently in the PL. Walton should probably do better with the free kick yday. I think we may end up going to a back 3 given how leaky we are at the moment and how well we seemed to do away at City with it.

I really don't think Greaves is the answer, he has plenty of brain-farts himself. You really avoid dropping your captain until it's a last resort, and we're a way off that yet I'd say.

Keeper was suspect? Really? Not a chance the keeper can be blamed for that.
