Cricket: Anyone else watching? 13:43 - Sep 24 with 4488 views | Steve_M | England are possibly going to be a little light given it's a small ground, 235/6 with 12 overs left.

Cricket: Anyone else watching? on 13:54 - Sep 24 with 4469 views | TLA | When Buttler and Morgan contribute 2 runs in a 50 over game, we're always going to struggle. At 30 overs, we looked good for well over 350 but we might struggle to get to 300. So much rests with Moeen now. Gayle can obviously have his 50 up in 7 or 8 overs, although the conditions don't look great for that kind of batting. It looks like it might be a tight contest but I'd have the Windies as favourites right now.

I went away for 10 minutes to finish cooking dinner and we're suddenly in a great position - Moeen is brilliant!
Cricket: Anyone else watching? on 14:28 - Sep 24 with 4420 views | JakeITFC | Ludicrous ball striking from Moeen. Hope the weather holds out as the West Indies will fancy chasing this on a small ground.

And a brilliant century, from 53 balls.

Cricket: Anyone else watching? on 14:46 - Sep 24 with 4394 views | Steve_M | 369/9 then. Ali should have taken the game away from them butt on a small ground with Gayle in the side..

Didn't they say that he scored 53 from 13 balls at one stage? Ridiculous!

I don't think they'll bat their overs - they'll either go in to blast mode or be all out in 35 overs. Even though the run rate is good, we should win from here. Gayle can be ridiculous though.

It's a proposal so far, mainly intended to fit more matches into the calendar year. It doesn't seem to have gone down particularly well - whilst many matches are complete in three our four days those that do last five days are some of the more interesting, normally ones where advantage fluctuates between the teams.

No, you didn't. It's something that has been floated for a while by those with poor attention span, but no sign of it actually happening as far as I am aware.

Does it not mean more people can attend due to less holidays needed from work? Wondered if it was meant to try and boost actual ticket sales when I glanced at it.

Jimmy Anderson's opinion was interesting. While not discounting the idea, he said that it would be extremely difficult to comply with the 105 overs per day, which will be required in the proposed 4 day tests. Apparently it is to be trialled at the Boxing Day test at The Newlyns when South Afirca play Zimbanwe. Hardly a fair trial, as the Saffers should win in less than 4 days.
