Pah. I take it he didn’t get anywhere in football?

Indeed... what would he have known about it to make such a comment.

Probably not a lot.

Maybe in the 70s and earlier that was the case, but when I started supporting Town in the mid-80s, tables were published after the third match.

True indeed, but being completely positive, the start does have an impact - or can do.

Take 02/03, dreadful start. Poor loss to Grimsby if my memory is working. That bad start, incomes Royle. Them points lost ensured it was difficult to come top 6. A better start, we'd have come top 6.

17/18. Best start since god knows when. With that injury pile, we really needed it. Couldn't carry on early season promise due to frequently having 8-11 players injured per game! Season effectively over when Loovens killed McGoldrick and Nuhiu scored late.

One thing that DOES look promising this season - injuries. Dozzell / Bishop / Huws + Woolfended all very close to returning.

Add a couple of loanees, and these lot staying fully fit / playing well, I'd say we'd have absolutely zero to worry about bottom 3.

THAT SAID - it's a %%% of how likely both permutations are to happy. Are they REALLY likely to stay fit!? Will Evans get the loanees in we require!?

Football - we all have an opinion, and can talk about it until the end of time.

Ultimately, none of us really know - however we clearly learn a little more after each game.

REALLY hope we win Sunday - sure, it's Norwich and I want to give it to them. But ANY win right now would be a massive relief / monkey off the back.
