TM appears to be going through these negotiations while allowing the ERG to tie her hands behind her back and other parties to blindfold her. She is therefore doing her best but it is very messy trying to write in the dark with her mouth to hold the pen. No one else could do it better under those circumstances and she should be applauded for her efforts. The question is why doesn't she stop battling on with the writing and stop to tell the idiots to untie her hands and remove the blindfold. Yes there is a deadline but it will get done quicker that way.
Brexit
We are like a branch of costa coffee in a small market town. Business is going pretty well but we keep having to pay into the corporate. Everyone is earning well off it but they have a corporate HR team that make things harder with all of their rules and regulations. We are considering sacking off costa and going alone, we can rip up the HR rules and do what we want to our staff and be the masters of our own destiny. The chances are though our sales will plummet severely, the locals will still buy but anyone further afield won't visit because they are drawn to the big name shops. The chances are costa will open a new branch next door and take most of our trade. We will however be able to give less benefits to our staff and we will get by by severely tightening our belts. We could however choose to stay being prosperous as a Costa.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
She put on her own blindfold and tied her own hands when she talked up a hard Brexit (and counted out anything like her current deal) immediately following a close referendum result. She empowered the hard or no-deal Brexiteers and even put them in charge of the effing process!
She's now paying for the past 2.5 years of posturing, silliness and downright incompetence that has simultaneously caused real damage in the real world.
Too many people will still support her though or say "what about Corbyn?"

Here's a thought for you. How about without the 2 years of chaos we wouldn't have a deal on the table. It is perfectly normal for negotiations to have multiple fall outs and starting again before a compromise can be reached. If you start with what you want and stick to it throughout it is highly unlikely that an agreement will ever be reached, you strong overly strong, walk away multiple times and then hopefully settle at what you wanted in the first place. Everyone leaves thinking they have what they want and the business relationship continues with happy people. I spent years negotiating corporate property leases and doing just that.
As for what about Corbyn. There is a reason people say it, he is the one thing that keeps May in power

Cameron gave the UK a gun to play with to show them how dangerous they are but the UK managed to shoot itself in the foot. 2 years later we have the opportunity to have surgery to fix the damaged foot (remain), bandage up the foot and carry on as best as possible (deal/soft brexit) or shoot ourselves in the other foot as well (No deal)
