Poor old West Brom, only having £34m parachute payments this year instead of £42m. My heart bleeds.

Banging on about how much Huddersfield got last season? Well West Brom got the same the year before and didn't go up. So why will Huddersfield be any stronger?

Also saying that the £8m drop in parachute money will mean 'players have to be sold'. Rondon - a player who didn't contribute anything to West Brom on the pitch last year - is likely to go for close to double that so there's more than the gap made up without the squad being weakened.

I'm all for 'spelling out' the realities of West Brom's financial position this season but it reads as a proper 'poor little Albion' up against the big boys coming down with their millions more to spend.

Ridiculous against a club that's had 5-10 times what Huddersfield have to work with over the last 5 years (given WBA were getting Premier riches for all that time) and that Albion arguably have a much better squad than Huddersfield anyway.

Any different from our article(s) bemoaning to loss of income having been relegated this year?

I guess the largest difference is that we don't get a prize for being relegated.

Our prize is watching better football that is more pleasing on the eye.

Our articles at least focus on where and what we are losing, without bringing in other clubs to the equation. Can't see why they are going on about Huddersfield.

Can you seriously imagine the EADT moaning next season, if we don't get promoted, that the might of Barnsley and Millwall are coming down with all the players they bought with their extra Championship revenue last year.

It's the Baggies' PR department softening up the fans for a couple of players leaving and not being replaced.
