Good, then we have a reason to just give them the 3 points without us all having to witness another home ramming.

That's a shame, if we win tomorrow night I was seriously considering going to that game.

Why is your attendance at the Portsmouth game dependent on us winning tomorrow night?

Because I may be travelling six hundred miles south later in the month and if there is anything hanging on the Portsmouth game I might just make the effort to add another hundred and fifty on to that for the sake of putting thirty quid in the pocket of Marcus Evans. If our season is a busted flush by then though friends and family will take much more precedence.

£30 into the pocket of Marcus Evans? You realise the club makes significant losses each year don’t you. Nothing coming into the club goes into his pocket, but your £30 might mean he has to put (x) million less £30 in this year.

I thought you were the one telling me last week about how losses can now be offset against business not in the same line as the loss making business? The quip about putting thirty quid in the pocket of Marcus Evans was not that serious by the way, i could just easily said into the pocket of an overpaid footballer or manager - or out of the pocket of the tea lady. Point is each of us only has so much time and money so we have to make decisions about what we do with them.

I could talk about rational choice theory but this is watching football we are discussing, there is little rational about it. If all had limitless time and money, and going to watch a match did no harm to anyone then by all means knock me for not watching Town very much these days, jeez I have probably managed less than a thousand games in my life part time supporter that I am. But sometimes I see people pressured into spending money on supporting and giving up time and commitment that could be better spent on their family or another dependent and I feel this bonkers badge wearing demand to make it to every game is a really bad thing.

That would be typical. I only get over to a handful of matches and have already missed 2 because of internationals (Wycombe? home and Oxford away). I'm due back the weekend of the Pompey game......mind you, my last match was the Peterborough shambles, so maybe if it's postponed, I'd be better off.

OK, you've convinced me not to be a part time supporter. Doesn't matter that the game probably means nothing, I'll go.

I'm jinxed.....out of the 5 matches I've been back to the UK to watch the mighty blue army (Ipswich in case you're wondering), 3 have been cancelled. It all looked so good after the 1st game, 4-1 victory at home to Tranmere!
