I used to think that Joe Wicks was a bit of a div.... 09:19 - Mar 24 with 892 viewsITFC_Forever

... but he's properly got the nation's kids engaged with his 9am exercise class on You Tube.

Our two are following it religiously, as is my wife (although I'm not sure her motivation is quite the same as theirs), and judging by social media, there's loads of kids getting involved.

Over a million logged in for the live session yesterday apparently. I'd never heard of him.

I think he's actually a good guy at heart, can be hard to watch or listen to for long though.

I did his 15 minute workouts for a period last year having stopped sitting behind a desk all day and trying to get a bit more fitness, seemed to help quite a bit though the warm up left me fecked after the first attempt.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I hadn't heard anything from him since he covered his bedroom in tinfoil

If my FB feed is anything to go by, the kids don't give a sh1t but the mums have 'engaged' very enthusiastically...

Reminds me a lot of Jamie Oliver in that he’s massively annoying but lots of people seem drawn to him still

No doubt the PE sessions will increase his profile further and he’ll make an absolute killing off the back of it, but by the same token anything which gets kids (and some adults) active is to be applauded, so fair play to him

He has that 'slightly overbearing enthusiasm' trait but he seems a good guy and he's doing a really good thing. Far better him using his skills/knowledge to try and make a positive difference than than the tragedies of some other celebrities trying to 'help'.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
