Yesterday being the 14th anniversary of John Lyall’s passing 10:06 - Apr 19 with 901 viewsGlasgowBlue

Some former players have been sharing some great memories of their former boss.

JL seems to be the forgotten man imo. Obviously his achievements at Town pale in comparison to SAR and SBR but that promotion to the Premier League after the Fergusson and Duncan years was very special.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Agree 100% . Amazing what he achieved spending virtually nothing to get us promoted. Steve Whitton signing was the key.

Spending virtually nothing and managing the squad as a group and individuals has been a characteristic of our better managers and better periods.

Whenever we've gone for new players as the answer and/or increased our ambition in the market, it seems to have gone t1ts up and we end up going backwards.

91/92 was my favourite season ever. That Southend game, Oxford away, then Brighton at home are moments that I can close my eyes and remember like yesterday.
