Depressingly, none of it matters, the people who need to see and understand these things just refuse to do so.

We brits like to point and laugh at the US and cult of Trump, but we're not really much better here.

It’s a good, if depressing, point. The UK and US should be so much better than they are. Instead, run by incompetent liars, enabled by cabinets and spokesmen with neither a spine or soul. It’s a race to the bottom.

Agreed. This was evidenced quite nicely on here earlier in the week when a Johnson supporter, when confronted with the unpleasant things he's said and done, did some impressive mental gymnastics so they didn't have to confront any of it. Quite depressing really.

A quiet week for them then. No mention of looking to buy into an American satellite company that doesn't produce the satellites needed for GPS. Or Jenrick's latest alleged donations for favours claims.

They're untouchable, sadly. Highly incompetent, but untouchable.

The sleaze and corruption is building a head of steam up nicely.

It will gain momentum as the Covid crisis fades.

Isn't that the sort of mental gymnastics associated with a city in Northern Britain?

Think this something from over a year ago. Planning application for 400 homes on a stud farm, not near the racecourse. Jenrick’s predecessor rejected the application, Jenrick gave it the go ahead.
