I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

The Mosquito was one of the best planes used during WW2 yet barely gets the recognition it deserves. I might be wrong here but there is only one left and that is in New Zealand.

The plane's success is testament to Olivia's skills as an aeronautical engineer.

I would say it's the 4th most well known British WW2 plane after the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster.

Lifted straight from Wiki so not necessarily true!:

There are approximately 30 non-flying Mosquitos around the world with four airworthy examples, three in the United States and one in Canada. The largest collection of Mosquitos is at the de Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre in the United Kingdom, which owns three aircraft, including the first prototype, W4050, the only initial prototype of a Second World War British aircraft design still in existence in the 21st century.

I suspect the lack of flying examples in Europe plays a part but I think it's still well known.

Talking of WWII aircraft, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight were over London yesterday evening. I didn't even have to move from my seat to see them out of the window which was nice.
