It’s not the fact they’ll go - it’s how much we flog them for. Aren’t Peterborough getting £10m for Toney? I’m sure most fans would accept it if we sold Downes and Woolfenden for perhaps half that. Then again the secondary issue is we won’t invest that money in the squad and, come the cap, we won’t be allowed to either without some inventive accounting. |  |

Agree that the fee is only half of it... the bigger issue is the lack of investment off the back of it. Look at when we sold Murphy, 3.5m seemed a fair price for a 33 year old. Yet we didn’t sign anyone of note as a replacement other than L**n B**t and even that was right at the end of the window when he’d been linked with moves away all summer!
I wouldn’t begrudge Woolf and Downes being sold to PL teams for a decent few, but I’d genuinely worry who we would get in as replacements.... if anyone! |  | | |
