More cultural cleansing from China 08:28 - Oct 14 with 819 views | StokieBlue | They seem to have decided to turn their attention to the Mongolians as well as the Uigiurs. A few months ago they changed all teaching in schools to be in Mandarin not Mongolian and now it seems they won't lend out cultural artifacts unless they have full control over the narrative of the exhibition and the contents of any documentation: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/14/china-insists-genghis-khan-exhibit Really awful stuff going on when it comes to the minorities in China at the moment. Hard to see how anything will change given there has been no progress with the Uigiurs situation which they simply deny. SB

More cultural cleansing from China on 08:40 - Oct 14 with 792 views | Guthrum | Ethnic Han dominance has been a fairly central part of Chinese Communist Party policy for decades. Only a few minor (and tourist-attracting) groups such as the Miao have escaped. One thing only rarely mentioned about Tibet is the forced imposition of Han culture, language and settlers in that region.

The press should be front page pushing this really. The world boycotted South Africa im the 80s, why not now? Nothing to do with the fact China own the cheap manufacturing industry after globalisation allowed companies to use the entire world to profit a few I’m sure.

We've sat back and watched the cleanse the Uigiurs. There's doesn't seem to be a political will to do anything about these human rights violations. If anything, we seem to moving towards a position where human rights are also treated with disdain.

But the radical left have asked you all to stop being racist and spreading hate, they're stealing your voice. We can't have horrible human rights laws and "leftie lawyers" stopping that now, can we!?

Indeed. And sadly indicative of dropping standards in public life and our media.

I've seen first hand what they do there. In Lhasa they are now the majority. The Han are paid by the government to move there and set up businesses. I was constantly followed by the Police, and not allowed outside of Lhasa without a guide, who thankfully were Tibetan. The Army are constantly out on patrol armed to the teeth, which is ridiculous considering how peace loving Tibetans are.
