We can't really talk in the past tense about which way was better until the pandemic is over, they are currently experiencing single figure deaths per day compared to our three hundred odd which compares favourably even when population size and demographics are factored in.

My suspicion, however, is that they haven't hit the second wave in that part of the world yet and the confirmation recently that antibodies decrease rapidly (although they are not the only factor in immunity) may scupper any herd immunity advantage they may have had over lockdown countries when that wave hits.

But i'm keeping an open mind over all the different approaches whilst there are so many unknown factors and multiple methods of comparison.

Its a great myth Sweden was this miracle. Yet it is the ‘trendy’ goto for the anti-Covid brigade

It's also noteworthy that the article describes fairly similar measures to those that the UK has/is following.

Presumably the benefit of their low population density is factored into the analyses too.

The best analysis has to use excess death rates and I think the full extent of it will take time to be truly analysed fairly across different countries.
