Holy
Chambers - Woolfenden - McGuinness - Ward
Dozzell - Huws - Bishop
Bennetts - Hawkins - Edwards

Subs: Cornell, Kenlock, Nsiala, Judge, Lankester, Sears, Jackson

Bennetts and Edwards will need to tuck in much closer to Hawkins though - at the moment our wide players seem to be being asked to run the touchline which results in Hawkins winning a header or holding the ball with no support. We can only hope Huws stabilises midfield better than the mess we had today though, so far, we have little proof he will - not that we have many other options.

Dozzell I think is suspended, 5 bookings?

Will be Judge for Dozzell.

Other than that looks as good as we’ve got I think.

Missed that - Judge it will be then with probably McGavin on the bench?

Only if they count the carabao cup. Think he has 4 in the league.

Dozzell not suspended as one of the yellows was in the cup and they are competition specific.

So one more yellow in the league and he'll miss a game.

Don't flatter yourself, Edwards is in the team.

Think Lankaster is ahead of Bennetts at the moment and should start. I’d still have Dobra on the bench.

I just picked Bennetts over Lankester based on pace - the lack of speed up front is hindering us alongside lack of strength in midfield.

I did consider putting Dobra on the bench but not sure for who. Sears?

The problem is when the wide players come inside it becomes too congested and easy for the opposition. When wide players stick to the wing it stretches the opposition and the midfield should be supporting Hawkins, aka Walky style

I think too often we’ve looked pedestrian and lacking in pace as it is, so I wouldn’t think walky style is the right approach... we could do with a supporting midfielder like the role Wark used to play, perhaps?

Yes sorry that's sort of what I meant a player who knew how to come from midfield to support the striker

Bishop is getting there but is often too deep and then Hawkins is isolated even though there is space around him

Perhaps that was the idea of Judge playing yesterday; as someone who used to play off the striker he would look to push forward more. Hardly worked that way, though.

It would never have worked well in a million years and nor does having the wide players so wide

Do we need 2 defenders? We could get away with Kenlock only with both Chambers and Ward capable of playing centre back? More I think about it I think judge is better bench option. If we do need 2 defenders then it would be Sears who drops out for me.

Possibly - I have to wonder why Nsiala is preferred to Wilson on the bench anyway as I noticed he was in the squad list; I thought he had picked up a knock! If we’re going to have just one defender on the bench would it make more sense to pick Donacien as he can cover any position across the backline?

Think we maybe under the cosh a bit Tuesday night, so would like to see some pace on the width, one of Bennett/Lancaster/Jackson and Edwards for me.
