Fixture Pileup! 13:16 - Jan 4 with 830 views | Sparky85 | Just had a quick look at the fixtures.... Between 6th and 27th Feb - 7 games in 21 days = every 3 days March - 7 Games = every 4 days In total, between 6th Feb and 10th April we have 17 games. Average of a game every 3.5 days. Safe to say, we are going to need our full squad available, which I know is highly unlikely. (disclaimer - providing any new lockdown/measures don't result in the season being extended or worse)

Fixture Pileup! on 13:28 - Jan 4 with 772 views | clive_baker | 28 games in 17 weeks, it's pretty full on. It's broadly the same for everyone in and around the playoffs though, with the exception of a few that have played a game or 2 more already. You would like to think, given the depth we have in our squad when we get a few back from injury, that it would be to our advantage if we can find a bit of form. It's mad that if we win our game in hand we're only 2 points off 2nd, given we've been so average. It's absolutely there for the taking over the next 4 months, but I'm remain utterly unconvinced we'll seize the opportunity.

Even if we were to get Downes, Bishop, Norwood, and others fit, I too am unconvinced that Lambert will be able to guide us into the top six. Fully braced for us to fail again while Norwich go up yet again and reap yet more millions.

Agreed, or at least it'll be extended. Presumably at some point a relation to a footballer will get Covid quite badly and that'll be the trigger for players to start saying they aren't comfortable with being treated differently to others. Not sure if I was earning 50k a year at Southend that I'd be delighted with having to expose my direct family significantly more than I would do in another profession.

I suspect there's a good chance of that happening. We'll just run out of time as I suspect things with Covid are going to be pretty grim over the next 2 months at least. There'll be plenty more rearranged fixtures to add to the existing list.

I think the twice weekly testing in EFL will make a huge difference with regards to fixtures going ahead or not. Don't think there will be any of the mass postponements now as things should get caught much quicker, or at all

Just how many do you test, presumably you can only be in a match day 18 if you tested negative in the past 3-4 days. The answer, once testing in place, is to not permit postponement unless you cannot field less than 14 players including one recognized goal keeper. Think that is the approach FA have regards the Cup .

Yep, there needs to be set rules in place - because it does feel like at times clubs have used the rules to their advantages because nothing set in stone.

Bolton had to field weak teams same should apply re Covid. I know a certain chairman might think it unfair
