That back four plus no goal threat 19:35 - Jan 23 with 696 views3_5_2

If you offer little or no goal threat then your back 4 needs to be very good to win or draw games.

2 x 35 year old full backs. The worst CB we have ever had at the club (and I include Drissa Diallo in that) plus someone else’s 19 year old whilst our own Woolfenden sits on the bench ( presumably for speaking the truth ) oh and the only RB cover we had has been loaned out (MOM for Fleetwood today)

There is just so much wrong wherever you look

Get rid !

Not a decent keeper at the club either.
The midfield is ok, however judge and Dozzell just not good enough.
Plus the whole strike force of the club injured. But still we don't get a striker in on loan.
Pathetic management from manager to owner.

They sell us season tickets, telling us we are a club going for promotion. However we are only going 1 way.
We don't play like a team going for promotion. We play on the back foot every week. Today we did look to attack, however no quality in the team to create anything apart from a 2 minute spell after the substitutions.
Even if we did create anything we had nobody to out the ball in the net, so nobody really expected anything but a defeat surely. That's the way it is these days, we play anybody better than 10th in the league and we know we will lose. That's not a team looking for promotion. The wages cap is a blessing to Evans. Saves him money

In terms of having no goal threat, we only really have 3 players who can score goals, Norwood, Edwards & Bishop. If they don't score or don't even play then there is a very good chance we won't score at all.

Wolf was not on the bench for speaking his mind. He was on the bench for playing like a drain. The 2 CBS helped keep a clean sheet last week. They were hardly going to be dropped were they.

True. A clean sheet against bottom club Burton Albion.

Do you honestly think that back 4 will keep clean sheets against decent teams?

Talk about setting the bar low

It should be Chambers and Woolfy at CB, Donacien at RB, Kenlock at LB

Woolfy to learn from chambers afterall Chambers is/Was a solid CB, there should never be two inexperienced players together at CB you're just asking for trouble.

In an ideal world Wilson would be fit but he is on the list with loads of others.

Having Nsiala anywhere near the starting XI is just madness.

Poor back 4. Midfield could be any from 6 or 7, we can’t settle and one up top. Either a young lad who is not proven at this level, injury prone Norwood or Jackson who is now deemed a winger.

Throw a manager who does not seem to understand the need to play in their 3rd rather than ours allied to bizarre selection criteria, we are seeing the results.

With this squad we should be doing so much better. If we fail to go up the wages cap will kill us next season and we may go into L2 before long after that.

Get Paul Cook in now before it’s too late

Compared to letting in 3 the previous week at home to the team in 23rd.

I don’t think that any of our defenders are capable of keeping clean sheets against decent teams.

Agree. Back four is very poor.

I think our best pairing would be Wilson/Woolfenden.

Woolfenden clearly a talented lad, and I like Wilson’s no nonsense approach, tends to be very reliable.

I think that’s the best pairing, could be a nice blend.

To full backs, what can you say, certainly not the future.

At this level if you're going to go with our sort of backline you have to have 2 uptop with a chaser up there. Our defence needs the option to go long........ but with a possible opportunity to come of it. By having just the one up top, it's putting pressure on them as they know they can't do the long direct ball as there isn't anyone up there to go chasing it and it will just come back again.

Nsiala, 28 years old, ok when facing away from goal, but as soon as he's looking at our own he's in panic mode. Never going to be solid enough for this club, if he was 18 id' say ok lets coach him, but you can't change a 28 year old
